New Flashpoint Episodes on the Way!

Hey Badgers and Doves! Still really busy behind the scenes, we will catch up on old episode summaries as soon as we possibly can (hopefully, one or two at least by the end of the month). We were surprised to learn around a week ago that there are five new episodes airing in the next month on CTV (but as of this writing, they will not be appearing on CBS at the same time). Here is the upcoming schedule:

January 4 - Episode 305: "Collateral Damage"
January 11 - Episode 307: "Thicker than Blood"
January 18 - Episode 310: "No Promises"
January 25 - Episode 311: "Terror"
February 1 - Episode 312: "I'd Do Anything"

For those of you questioning these episode numbers, these are correct - they were aired out of order for broadcast. We will fix this on our episode ratings table once we get our summaries all finished. And as always, we will update the music cues as soon as we possibly can!

Training Day Game on CTV.ca

Fans can play Training Day, a new Flashpoint video game on the CTV website. The game starts by allowing you to take a tour of the SRU facilities which is followed by a recruitment test. The test assesses your aptitude in the areas of memory, spatial awareness, reaction, and focus. Each exercise has a short set of instructions followed by a trial. Note that the recruitment test uses audio instructions, so you will need to set your speakers to a comfortable volume.

After passing the recruitment test, you can register an account with CTV or log in using Facebook Connect.

The Officer Records available in the Objectives menu include profiles of all the SRU team members. Weapons Training allows you to learn about the weapons used on the show through descriptive text and video demonstrations. Review all the weapons to pass.

In the first test for Sniper Training, you shoot 15 targets that randomly pop up in the field at a shooting range. Immediately following that, you must recall the icons displayed on the targets you shot. Next is the first round of selective targeting, where you must avoid shooting civilians. Again, this is followed by a quiz about the targets. Another round of selective targeting follows where you report suspicious targets.

In Tactical Training, you begin with a tactical review of various weapons and team members. When you're ready, you can start the tactical simulator. Choose the correct weapons and equipment for each team member and run the simulation to see the results.

In Negotiation Training, you begin by reviewing the stages of a successful negotiation and then proceed to a simulation to test what you've learned.

In Profile Training, you receive training on reading body language and interviewing skills. Again, a simulation tests what you've learned.

The first final test focuses on tactical and sniper training, the second on negotiation and profiling. The second test gives you the option to call in toll-free and use an access code. If you prefer not to call in, you can select the "don't call" option and take the test that way.

If you pass all the tests, you receive congratulations from Sam and Winnie. You also get promoted from Rookie to SRU Officer.

We definitely recommend trying out this game. It's challenging at times and gives some extra interactivity and background info for fans to enjoy.

A Note From Flashpoint Team One:

A few of our American readers are probably confused why Canada has two sets of ratings on the ratings table for some Season 2 episodes, and why the United States only has one. And, they are also probably wondering why we have episode summaries for every episode before they have even aired! Hopefully, this post from the producers of Flashpoint which was posted last night can help to clear things up.

To answer the question, "Are these new shows or reruns"....

If you live in the US, you are watching Flashpoint on CBS. The episodes currently running on Friday nights are new to American viewers. CBS has never run these episodes before.

If you live in Canada, you may think you are watching the show on CBS, but it is really being broadcast by CTV in simulcast with CBS. CTV already broadcast these nine episodes beginning in September, 2009.

For both CBS and CTV viewers, a new Season of 13 brand new episodes is available. The networks may decide to run these together as they did with the first 22 episodes. Stay tuned to both Networks for programming announcements.

Regarding yet another Season of Flashpoint, CTV has already announced that they have renewed the show for yet another 13 episodes. CBS does not have to decide about these until October. So a new production schedule will not be announced until after October.

This has been very confusing to viewers and we hope this helps to clarify. Please point newcomers to this note for the explanation.

Fans can join the official producers' page on Facebook, Flashpoint Team One! The page has a lot of contests and interesting content such as an upcoming psychologist coming in to chat tomorrow. They also have a twitter account, you can follow them here!

BREAKING NEWS: New Writer Joins Flashpoint Writing Staff; Penny Wins an Award!

Former House Writer Joins Flashpoint!

Yes, you read right, that House show on Fox and Canwest Global! Playback reports that writer Pam Davis, who wrote for 5 years on House and the first season of the upcoming CBS drama Miami Medical, will be spending the next two months in Toronto as a story editor on Flashpoint. She is also a former Canadian Film Centre grad who is excited to be back in Canada, saying that the Flashpoint gig gives her a rare chance to visit her hometown after working 50 weeks a year in the House story room under series creator and fellow Canadian David Shore! While she is still under contract to Jerry Bruckheimer for Miami Medical while it is seekingn the greenlight for a second season, both Bruckheimer and CBS gave her permission to work on Flashpoint. Congratulations to Pamela and the writing staff of Flashpoint and we wish you the best of luck for Season 3!

Penny Wins at Sundance!

Tatiana Maslany (Penny in Planets Aligned) just won a Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival for her breakout role in the film Grown Up Movie Star. In the movie, she plays a precocious 14-year-old who grows up fast after her mother walks out on her and her father, a disgraced NHL star. Mongrel Media is currently handling the distribution of the film, which opened last Friday in Toronto. The film's distribution will expand on February 19th. For more information on the movie, check out the official site! Congrats to Tatiana - you have sure come a long way since your time on Flashpoint!

Flashpoint is Delayed in the US, but Doing Well in Canada

Unfortunately, according to Co-Executive Producer Bill Mustos, CBS has decided to push Flashpoint back in its schedule to Summer or Fall of 2010. He told Playback Daily that he received the call from CBS that they have decided to run Jerry Bruckheimer's Miami Medical in the slot that was slated for Flashpoint's return.

On the bright side, however, the rumors that CBS has dropped the series are false according to Mustos, who says that CBS feels quite positive about the show and are definitely planning to return it to US television.

Despite the lack of concurrency with CBS this season, Flashpoint continues to do very well on CTV, remaining firmly in the top 20 and averaging 1.7 million viewers last fall.

We're sorry to all of our American fans that they are going to have to wait to see the show on TV. We know that since the show has already aired in Canada there are numerous "alternate methods" available to watch the show. However, in order to keep support for the show strong, we highly encourage you to watch the show when it does appear on CBS, even if you've already seen the episodes.

In addition, for anyone wanting to support the show further, the Season 2 DVDs can be ordered from Amazon.ca and shipped to the US for a small fee. We are researching the possibility of a Blu-Ray release, but if you just can't wait, Season 2 will be available in March!

BREAKING NEWS: No Room For Flashpoint or the Bridge on CBS?

CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler spoke at a CBS session at the Television Critics Association on Saturday. She took a few jabs at NBC and their current dilemma with Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien. She acknowledged that CBS has plenty of new series to program, including Flashpoint and another Canada-United States co-production, The Bridge (which currently has 13 episodes waiting to air). The Bridge also has a connection to Sailor Moon, in star Toby Proctor (Tuxedo Mask #2). She simply said "We had a terrific fall launch... A lot of our shows are working so we had more content than we had real estate." This does not bode well for fans of Flashpoint (which was co-created by Stephanie Morgenstern (Sailor Venus #1) and her husband Mark Ellis) or potential fans of The Bridge. Many critics are speculating that these shows are now going to be pushed even further to the Summer. We really hope that there is at least some space to show at least a few episodes of these shows during Spring Sweeps. Sorry fans, we wish we had better news but we don't at this point. Keep writing to CBS! It is too early to tell when any new episodes of Flashpoint (set to resume production pretty soon) will air on CTV, or if they will be held back until CBS catches up. We also don't know as of this writing whether CTV will jump the gun and air The Bridge ahead of time just like they did Flashpoint last fall.

On a side note, we are slowly returning to the swing of things on the two blogs. The last of the episode summaries should be up soon, but no idea when a full review of Hugh Dillon's Works Well With Others will come up. It's really great album and any rock fans who read this blog should get it!

More September 2009 Flashbits!

This Week’s Upcoming Episode Will Be A Shocker!

Flashpoint has undergone some episode scheduling changes once again. It's likely that the episodes being aired in Canada are going to be aired out of order (but the reason will be made clear to us soon, we read). Back in July, the episode Coming To You Live was supposed to air. And this one was about the SRU trying to prevent a Radio DJ from killing a politician on the air. To our surprise, some days ago, another episode was announced for this Friday - One Wrong Move. And this one is probably going to keep everyone in Canada on the edge of their seats. One of our readers posted this same video on Facebook (linking to YouTube so everyone can watch) of the current commercial being aired on CTV as we speak for the new episode. CTV has also posted one online here. In a press release, CTV posted this about the episode:

FLASHPOINT returns with its most emotional and unforgettable episode ever as the SRU is pushed to the breaking point and desperately work to save the life of one of their own. After answering a bomb call in the downtown core the team soon discovers it’s just the first in a wave of bombings by a mysterious eco-terrorist organization. Ed (Hugh Dillon), Sam (David Paetkau) and Wordy (Michael Cram) must hunt down the terrorists, while bomb defusing experts Spike (Sergio Di Zio) and Lou (Mark Taylor) must defuse two bombs simultaneously.

The only cast members we can confirm at this time are Richard Willis, who plays the character Sheldon Kominski, and Toronto actor Drew Finnie makes another of a few appearances on the show. CTV's Forums are all abuzz with who the unfortunate member of the team might be, and if it is who we think it is, we'll be left wondering where the series is going to go.

On a side note, I am definitely going to change the format of the episode summaries (yes, I will attempt to use paragraphs). If I have a laptop (which I am hoping one of my broken ones will return to me from the shop soon), then it will be up hours after the episode airs. If not, then I'm stuck doing it on this PC, and that won't happen until CTV puts the episode up online. We will hide the full summaries after the post jumps, so those of you who don't want to be spoiled, won't be :). We're excited and only 5 days away from a premiere! Keep an eye out on our ratings table too - this will be updated as soon as we have the figures in!

Simon Vaughan Starts New Company!

Well, it seems one person that left the fledgling Alchemy TV has started their own venture. Simon Vaughn, co-founder and partner at Alchemy, left the company last year, and just recently announced that he is starting his own company, Lookout Point. The company will producers secure funding for their projects via pre-sales, co-production and bank and equity financing. Since this is a solo project, Simon will serve as an Executive Producer on future productions, but will not serve as a distributor. He spoke of his philosophy, "I want to sit on the same side of the desk as the producer and have the flexibility to get involved with the best projects and help make them happen. It is important to have maximum mobility, so I can work with networks, studios or production companies without treading on the toes of their own in-house distribution entities. Being less of a competitor and more of a partner is very liberating and gives me access to a wider range of the best projects." Vaughn plans to focus on series and movies. Simon isn't quite done with Alchemy just yet, as he is nominated this month for an Emmy for his work on their production, Coco Chanel (Outstanding Made for Television Movie). Alchemy continues to be a key production partner of Flashpoint.

Flashpoint’s Second Season Premieres in Italy!

We wonder if Spike cozied up to Babycakes and watched! Flashpoint continues its conquest of the world, and the second season of the show began in Italy on September 8th on AXN. The first season of the show reruns in syndication on RaiTre (Rai3) and so far the ratings have been good on both channels. On September 10th, approximately 1,224,00 people watched Scorpio and the show held a 5.23% share. Mark Ellis reports that 1.3 million people caught the premiere on AXN! Fans can catch watch Flashpoint in this Autumn 2009 promo video from AXN! Viva la Flashpoint!

And Now, a Short Word From Moon Chase:

The fans are really putting up a fight to bring back Sailor Moon, and we want to thank the readers of this blog who weren't afraid to check out a little more about Flashpoint's very big connection to an iconic cartoon, and in turn participated in our surveys. We have received over 1000 surveys from fans over Phase 1 and 3 of Operation Moonrise - which is a really big number none of us ever expected to reach! We'll be finishing up the release survey a week from today, so if you want to get involved this is your very last chance!

Flashbits from July 2009!

Flashpoint has had a couple bits in the news in recent days!

New Episodes' Delay a Relief For Producers

Hot on the heels of CBS's sudden announcement that new episodes of Flashpoint were not going to air last week, we uncovered a few comments from Producer Bill Mustos on Playback Magazine. And they suggest that this delay is not necessarily a bad thing! Bill says:
"We've been able to slow down post-production, which is a bit of a relief to us because we've been on a very fast schedule"

Which we can understand - the show began shooting this year in January and is scheduled to continue until August. Mustos also said that CTV has ordered 13 episodes for a third season, and depending on CBS's return this may be extended to 18. He also noted that there is a lot of confusion in keeping track of Flashpoint's episodes since Season 2 in North America began with four episodes held back from the first season! This is one of the first acknowledgments we've heard from anyone involved with the show about this confusion! He also confirmed that the show is coming back to CBS as a midseason replacement. CTV has still not confirmed when the remaining Season 2 episodes will be broadcast.

New Interview With Flashpoint Creators:

Stephanie Morgenstern and Mark Ellis were featured guests at last month's Banff Worldwide Television Festival, and one lucky, blogging, screenwriter, got to interview them through email, and sit in on their sessions! Alex Epstein, best known for his work on Canadian hits 15/Love, Bon Cop, Bad Cop, and Naked Josh posted a compilation of notes from their Master Class session, and questions which the two answered via e-mail. This is well worth the read for you budding screenwriters, and behind-the-scenes aficionados. There are also a few comments included from Christina Davis, Senior Vice President for Drama Series Development at CBS. There's a lot of detail about their inspiration for turning this into a series from a proposed movie-of-the-week, and bonus detail about a cop they met during the development of the series.

Tassie Cameron Moves on to Motherhood, and Copper

Tassie Cameron was not a star of Flashpoint, but she was the spark that led the writing table from the beginning until just recently. Last month, she flew to Los Angeles with her writing partner Ilana Frank to pitch a new cop show to network execs called Copper. This one's about rookie cops fresh out of the academy making their ways through their careers. ABC picked up 13 episodes, and this happened shortly after the series was greenlit by Canwest Global. As we speak, the show is being shot, as Tassie is expecting her first child! The cast includes Canadian favorites such as Missy Peregrym, and Greg Smith. Eric Johnson of Smallville and Melanie Nicholls King of Law and Order are also joining the cast! Congrats to Tassie - we will miss seeing your words on Flashpoint, but we wish you the best of luck on your new show and a happy, healthy and safe journey into motherhood!

New Enrico Colantoni Interview with German Newspaper!

The German portal dedicated to American Entertainment, Serienjunkies, just posted a phone interview with Enrico Colantoni promoting the series, which is about to make its debut on German TV network RTL2. Für eine deutsche Übersetzung, klicken Sie bitte hier. He talks about the show and it's Canadian identity, how it has opened the door for other Canadian shows on American networks, and his character. One of the coolest parts in the interview is on the second page where he suggests that the show's peaceful nature of negotiation is something that fits into the current US political zeitgeist. We also have to wonder if President Obama watches the show! The interviewer Christian Junklewitz also suggests that he sing a song for the show, but Enrico laughs away from it. And, Enrico talks about another role which is a little too hot for this blog. We still think a musical episode would make for great filler just once!

Hugh Dillon Working Double Duty!

When not working as a sniper and leader on Flashpoint, Hugh Dillon plays a detective on Durham County. There have been a few articles lately talking about Hugh's involvement with both series. He is also due to release his debut solo album later this fall through Warner Music Canada! We wonder if his song from the show, Lost at Sea will be included. The album will be called "Works Well With Others" and he describes it as "a little more Leonard Cohen and a little less Lemmy from Motorhead." Hugh's success on both sides of the border continues to grow in new directions!

BREAKING NEWS - Flashpoint to Repeat This Week

A CBS press release indicates a schedule change for Flashpoint this week, with a repeat of "Clean Hands."

From the release:
(The following episode of FLASHPOINT has been substituted for the one previously scheduled for July 17) – When the SRU moves a serial killer to a new facility, they discover the federal agent they're working with is secretly sabotaging the mission, on a rebroadcast of "FLASHPOINT," Friday, July 17
TV listings confirm that CBS will be airing "Clean Hands" this week. Castle is set to air on CTV at the same time.

Repeats are scheduled through August 7th for CBS and we've heard that new episodes of Flashpoint may be held until the middle of the fall season, but we are still searching for confirmation on that.

We will be sure to keep you updated when we know more about the schedule.

BREAKING NEWS: Flashpoint Season 3 begins on July 17th... On CBS?!

Breaking earlier today on CBS's Press Express was an announcement about Stephanie Morgenstern's (Sailor Venus #1), and her husband Mark Ellis' Flashpoint having a Season 3 premiere on July 17th. So much for having a break until the fall, we are all working hard behind the scenes to get our Flashpoint blog up, and I was looking forward to a long break from watching any episodes! In an effort to have caught up with our summaries, I have been running a marathon through all of Season 2 since Monday! The episode that will air that day is "Coming To You Live", about a popular radio show host who is holding a prominent politician hostage on the air. He is seeking revenge for a murder that he thinks the politician committed years ago, and is ready to kill him on the air. Can the SRU fix this situation? We'll get to see in about 3 weeks. As for whether I will be able to keep up with the summaries or not, I can't speculate on that right now ;) though if this experience has taught me anything, I will have to keep up with it at least a few days after they air!

We here at Moon Chase are surprised by this announcement. CBS had kept the show off of it's Fall Schedule, while CTV had announced that it was on theirs, and also committed to 13 episodes for 2010. Now if CBS's Ghost Whisperer, NUMB3RS, and Medium are set to premiere on September 25th this leaves room for up to 10 new episodes of Flashpoint to air. Nine episodes are being shot right now, and this set of episodes began shooting in May. We are a little worried about Flashpoint's future, and perhaps it was CTV's announcement of the show airing on it's Fall schedule that provoked this action by CBS. It's a strange and twisted industry, and we were looking forward to seeing it again in the Fall on a more regular schedule. We sure hope that the show's future will be made clear in the coming days.

It's Probably Not Official, But Nonetheless...

We were very amused when we saw this t-shirt on eBay and we think every Flashpoint fan who reads this site needs one of those! You could subtly send a message to CBS and CTV with this shirt the next time you're bored out of your mind on a Thursday night because Flashpoint isn't on. There's no point to this post other than to show fans this shirt. Hey, when you're dry for Flashpoint news, anything goes!

BREAKING NEWS: Flashpoint NOT Airing on CTV This Weekend.

We here at Moon Chase have just learned that CTV pulled Flashpoint off of the schedule on Sunday. This is a complete surprise since an earlier media release stated that it was going to air this Sunday. Furthermore there does not appear as of this writing any scheduled dates for the four remaining episodes. We're not sure if this was at the request of CBS or the producers of another TV show. As always, when the show returns to the air in Canada or the United States, we will continue to post our summaries and ratings pieces.

Flashpoint Ratings September 18th

Flashpoint's season finale on CBS scored a record number of viewers in the United States - 9.66 million to be exact! The show was #1 in it's timeslot and 2.6/7 with viewers 18-49. Mark Berman is certain that the show will return on the network at a later time (and that was written hours before CBS made their announcement). This number was an all-time high for the series, and we couldn't be prouder! Even more surprising was a CTV Press release we found giving us the show's ratings ahead of BBM Canada! The show also hit a high in Canada with 1.46 million viewers, and the show peaked at 10:51 PM (9 minutes before the show ended) with a total of 1.66 million viewers. A total of 2.5 million viewers watched all or part of last night's episode. The show was #1 across all key demographics all across the country. While Anne Marie La Traverse and Bill Mustos seem to be getting all the credit in the media, we're a little dismayed there's little being said about the creators of the show, Stephanie Morgenstern (Sailor Venus #1) and her husband Mark Ellis. Without them creating the show, the producers wouldn't have this show to produce. So, congratulations again to Stephanie and Mark on a hit show, and many more episodes to come!

BREAKING NEWS: CBS Finally Renews Flashpoint!

We were ecstatic to come home from our day to finally hear the news we were waiting for! Many media outlets are now reporting that CBS has indeed renewed Flashpoint for 13 episodes next season! We would like to take this time to thank every fan who supported this show from the beginning. We have been reporting everything we possibly could about this show since last Fall, and seeing news like this really makes us jump for joy - we are elated with the success that Stephanie Morgenstern (Sailor Venus #1) and her husband Mark Ellis have achieved with this show, and we couldn't be more proud. We think that of all the North American VA stories that we have reported so far, Stephanie's has been the standout of this year - for a Canadian TV show to hit it big after such a long time on a US network is no small feat! We absolutely loved last night's episode, and although the fate of the last four episodes of the season are unknown as of this writing on CBS, we were so happy to hear it went out on a high note scoring 9.66 million viewers last night! We can tell you that CTV has moved the show to Sundays, and on September 28th the episode "Eagle Two" will air. According to the press release, the summary reads: "the SRU is handling a routine VIP protection shift when a bomb goes off. Realizing the bomb was a distraction tactic so that the VIPs wife could be kidnapped, the SRU attempts to find her. The kidnapping turns to horror when the wife is found alive - with a remote-controlled collar bomb around her neck." We'd like to extend congratulations on behalf of the staff and readers of this site to the cast and crew once again on a job well done and continued success - and we will be here just as much as we were this season next year! We will also continue to be there for all of you with summaries for the last episodes airing on Canadian television.

P.S. Last Night's Summary and Ratings will be up later this weekend.

To Our New Zealand Readers: Flashpoint is Coming to You This Week!

This entry is just for our New Zealand readers - we just learned of a premiere date for Flashpoint on TVNZ's TV2! Flashpoint will premiere at 8:30 PM on Wednesday September 17th! There is even a teaser trailer with a really cool sparkling purple logo. We've been reading some rather lukewarm articles from TV critics there, and some of the things we have read are really unfair to the show. So to our New Zealand Moon Chasers and their friends - please give the show a chance. There is a lot more to the show behind the banter which TV Critic Tom Shales deems is "bouncy and bonhomie". We'd like to let him know the show worked very hard alongside retired members of the police force this show is based on to get their details right. And there is a lot more substance to "perky" Jules and "Stubble Boy" Braddock. The first episode is not as great compared to the rest that come, but the show will and does get better. It's unlike most cop shows on TV. And it has done really well on CBS in the US with high ratings and lots of viewers. It's one of the top rated TV shows here in Canada too. If ever at all you want to read a spoiler for an episode before you watch it, feel free to check out our detailed summaries on each episode - but you'll get a lot more out of it if you catch the show. By watching the show, you're also supporting Stephanie Morgenstern, who is a favorite among fans for her performance as the first Sailor Venus. You'll even get to see the face behind the voice in the first episode as she plays the hostage! So please, give this show a chance. Normally we don't care for shows like CSI, NCIS, and Law and Order, but we were all pleasantly surprised with this one and we hope you will be too.

Flashpoint Ratings: September 12th

Still reeling from the surprise of Thursday's announcement that next week's episode will be the season finale, we read some very encouraging news from TV Expert Marc Berman, who doesn't think that this is the last we have seen of Flashpoint on CBS. He reports that Flashpoint pulled in 8.5 million viewers and a 2.2/6 rating with viewers 18-49. Watch this space, we will post Canadian ratings as soon as they are available!

EDIT: Flashpoint is the 6th most popular TV show in Canada, and scored 1.289 million viewers!

BREAKING NEWS: What's Happening With Flashpoint?

Hey Moonies - I have watched yesterday's episode but I won't be able to blog it till later tomorrow. At the end though, I noticed something a little peculiar. CBS has announced that next week's episode will be the season finale. 13 episodes were shot this season, and it looks like the last four will not air as of this writing. We don't know what is up with CTV at this moment. We have a feeling this is because of new shows premiering on the network next week, but this leaves us all wondering when the last four will air. It doesn't make sense to us that the network would be rejecting the show in it's entirety, from what we read the show helped CBS win the ratings handsomely last night. And readers, we did not forget about Fox's abyssmal Hole in the Wall. We will be posting our full opinion on that mess later this weekend.

As always, once we find out what will happen with the show we will let you know. We have a feeling that the episodes whether they air or not will be released on iTunes along with the others already there. On the bright side, we learned that one of the creators of Flashpoint, Stephanie Morgenstern (Sailor Venus #1) has been coined a "creatrix" by one blogger, who spotted her at this year's CFC Barbecue! This is a super elite event held by the Canadian Film Centre, and invitees are big players in the industry, from actors, to producers, and everyone in between. We are so proud of all of her achievements since her VA days and in a way we also feel that Sailor Venus has achieved her dream of being an idol and schmoozing with the best people in the industry through Stephanie's work (bizarre how the actor and the character are intertwined!).

Please Support Flashpoint!

Hey everyone - I'm still trying to get my laptop back up to speed (I'm almost there, just a few programs left to go!) but I'm trying to juggle a new semester and now this horrid cold which took my voice away today. Hopefully this weekend I will have energy again! Anyway, Flashpoint is coming back to both networks in it's original timeslot, and I caught a trailer for the episode this morning during the news. This one takes place in a courthouse and there's a hostage situation. A wrongfully convicted man fears his name may never be cleared. There's a couple cases in Canada that deal with almost the same sort of wrongful convictions that came up in my mind and the episode may be partially based on them. One is the sad story of David Milgaard, and the other is of Steven Truscott. It's very important (especially for all of you in the United States) to watch this show from now until the end. If you can't watch the show but are recording it, try to watch it on the same day. Readers of this site need to do their best to keep up the ratings of the show until CBS makes an announcement about the new season. Check your local listings and/or CBS and CTV for more information!

Breaking News: Another Rerun for Flashpoint :(

I (along with many of the rest of you Canadian fans) was looking forward to a new episode of Flashpoint tonight. It seems at the last minute CTV changed their website to show that they were going to play Attention Shopper instead of Never Kissed A Girl. Flashpoint was also not on CBS for the second week in a row, probably due to the Democratic and/or Republican conventions happening now. We here at Moon Chase are slightly dismayed at this, and unfortunately can't bring you a new summary for tonight's episode. We're all gonking along with you :s.

Flashpoint Ratings: August 21st

Flashpoint's success continues in the United States and Canada! On CBS the show scored 7.29 million viewers, and was the #2 program watched that night! For adults between 18-49 that night, it scored a rating of 1.9/5. In Canada, BBM reports 1.177 million viewers and was the fourth most watched program that week behind the Olympics and their closing ceremonies, and CBC's National News.
